Integrated Messaging

Clinic communication has never been easier: the Messaging system within PracticeStudio allows users not only to send messages to other users, but also to generate reminders and subscribe to specific message types originated by the system. The following are just some of the things you can do with the Messaging system:

Messages and Reminders

  • Create and send new messages to individual security users and/or groups of users.
  • Reply to or forward messages received from other users.
  • Create reminders that pop up on specified users' accounts at particular times.
  • Dismiss reminders that pop up on your account or specify a Snooze time, after which the reminder will appear again.
  • Format messages and reminders using different fonts, font sizes, colors, bolding, italics, etc. available in the Message window's built-in Rich Text Format toolbar.
  • Manage messages in your inbox and sort messages by status (Unread, Requires Action, Completed, etc.).

Subscriptions

  • Set up messaging subscriptions that determine which users and/or security roles receive system-generated messages pertaining to lab tasks, insurance plan verification, refill requests, and inventory re-ordering.
  • Specify escalating message delivery times: for example, you could set up a subscription that would notify one or more nurses immediately upon receiving a lab result but would not notify any providers until 2 days later if the lab task is still unresolved.
  • Efficiently handle system-generated tasks. When a task is received by multiple users, it needs to be handled by only one user and is automatically updated within the to-do list of all other users who received the message.
